The opening ceremony of “Seminar on Agricultural Management and Technology for Burkina Faso” which is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by the Administration and Management Institute (AMI) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was held on March 7. Twenty-four government officials, researchers and technicians from Burkina Faso participated in this seminar. H.e. BITIE DAOUDA, Ambassador of Burkina Faso to China, and Ms. Gu Ximei, Director of the Second Division of the Academy for International Business Officials of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

Gu said that China and Africa have always been a community with a shared future, and China and Burkina Faso enjoy traditional friendship. Since the resumption of diplomatic ties, bilateral relations have made great progress, political mutual trust has been deepened, and fruitful results have been achieved in various fields such as agriculture, education and health. It is hoped that this seminar will be a good platform for the participants to learn and exchange ideas, and jointly contribute wisdom to China-Burkina Faso agricultural cooperation and rural development.

Ambassador DAOUDA expressed his sincere thanks to the Chinese government for hosting this seminar. He said that agriculture continues to play a key role in the cooperation between the two countries, and China has contributed significantly to the improvement of agricultural productivity in Burkina Faso. Through this workshop, the participants can have an in-depth understanding of China's technical achievements and management experience in the field of agriculture, and discover production technologies and management methods that can be implemented in Burkina Faso to contribute to the agricultural development.

During the 21 day course, through various learning activities such as presentations, on-site learning, field trip visits, and discussions and exchanges, participants will learn China's policies to promote agricultural and rural development, the construction and development of agricultural technology extension system, agricultural machinery and agricultural product processing practices. The seminar can help to carry out practical learning on agricultural technology and management mode, provide participants with practical technical experience, build a communication platform for agricultural development and promote the deepening of agricultural cooperation between China and Burkina Faso.
